- The W3 Schools offer detailed tutorials and reference materials for all aspects of web design and development. This is a must have bookmark for anyone seeking information on web coding.
- World Wide Web Consortium
- The W3C is the group responsible for the development of web standards. This site contains all of the rules, recommendations, and specifications a web developer needs to create sites and applications for the internet.
- DreamInCode.net
- DreamInCode.net is a programming and web development community website. The site offers forums, tutorials, blogs, and other useful sections for learning about coding and connecting with other developers around the globe.
Career Development
- CareerBuilder.com
- This well-rounded site provides users with advice and services for advancing their careers. It combines job search capabilities with articles and links to service providers that assist with writing better cover letters and resumes. CareerBuilder.com also offers recommendations on other ways to improve your career opportunities or start a new one entirely.
- Rent A Coder
- Rent-A-Coder connects freelance developers and designers with clients around the world. The buyers post their projects along with timelines and a general budget range. The coders can then present the buyers with bids for performing the work.
- Brainbench
- Brainbench is an internet-based assessment and certification authority. Many employers like to have additional proof of knowledge for their employees and this is one way to gain it. Most of the exams available are comparable to their OEM counter-parts, such as the A+ certification, although they are not as well known.
- Linked In
- This social networking site provides tools to assist professionals of all trades connect with one another. By expanding their network, users of this site are able to find ways to increase their knowledge, influence, and career opportunities.

- Society for Creative Anachronism: Kingdom of Northshield
- The Kingdom of Northshield is one of the Mid-Western regional branches of the Society for Creative Anachronism. The SCA is a non-profit group devoted to the study and recreation of medieval Europe.
